sistersYour financial gift translates into our ability to continue the services we provide.

The Prevention Planning Partnership (PPP), has stated that there is an escalating need for prevention services for children and youth in our rapidly growing Planning District 16. This escalating need is compelling RBBBS to conduct an aggressive Fund Development Campaign that will:

u Provide us with the necessary funds to recruit new volunteers to serve as Big Brother and Big Sister mentors.

u Enable staff to conduct the requisite background checks and other screening steps with volunteers.

u Provide quality training and professional match support to all Matches.

u Provide the necessary staff and an adequate facility to support the growth that our organization envisions over the next 5 years.

Individual Contributions
Gifts from individuals should be the backbone of our support. Every dollar makes a difference as we strive to provide a caring, responsible adult mentor for every child in need. This year, we will be focusing on building a stronger base of supporters through both our Summer and our December Giving Campaigns.

Corporate Gifts
Businesses can contribute through one-time or ongoing gifts, through matching-gift programs, and through event sponsorship.

Grants
RBBBS received $213,260 in grant income in FY 2006. This includes support from the US Department of Education ($157,667) and a combined total of $55,953 from The Governor’s Office on Safe and Drug-Free Schools, Philip Morris Foundation, The Community Foundation of the Rappahannock River Region, and the Fredericksburg Sav
ings Charitable Foundation.

U_WayRappahannock United Way
RBBBS is a partner agency of Rappahannock United Way. The agency is currently receiving $48,000 annually.

Local Government
RBBBS receives local government funding from both Spotsylvania and Stafford. The agency is currently applying for funding from the City of Fredericksburg and King George.

Planned Giving
More than ever, people are making decisions about the future of their financial power, beyond their lifetimes. There are several ways this can be done. A financial advisor can assist you with the appropriate procedures.

Cars for Kids’ Sake
Trade in your car for a whole new future. The engine is running rough; there's one too many dings; and the color just isn't you anymore. But before you think trade-in at your local dealership, Big Brothers Big Sisters is offering a unique way to "double" your car's value. Cars for Kids' Sake is a fast, easy and trouble-free way to donate your car, truck, boat, or motorcycle to support kids who need positive role models. And, you may be eligible for a tax deduction, if you itemize. All you need to do is call the toll-free number -- 1-800-710-9145 -- and the Cars for Kids' Sake office in Philadelphia will take care of the rest. The vehicle will be picked up, processed and turned into a lifetime of memories for kids in our community who really need it. The RBBBS agency will receive 75% of the net proceeds and 25% goes to the National office. Please have the title to your vehicle in hand when you call.

Original Ways to Give
In addition to the more traditional ways to donate listed above, RBBBS is also happy to be the recipient of contributions raised by individuals with creative ideas.
